📺 The Chills Are Back! And I Don’t Mean the Weather.
As you may know, I do love a good horror so when Mike Flanagan released another series on Netflix, I couldn't wait to jump in as The Haunting of Hill House is my favourite horror series.
The Fall of the House of Usher did not disappoint. With some familiar faces from Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor and Midnight Mass, this series reminded me of a mix of all these programs with a succession vibe.
📖 A Menu for Mindfulness
I have been really struggling with overwhelm lately, and I am fully aware that it is because I am trying to do too many things at once. I know that I need to switch off and be more mindful, but when I think of mindfulness I think of meditation.
Then I came across this article on Mindfulness Exercises from Wondermind. It has plenty of alternatives to meditation that can easily be done from anywhere, so I will certainly be giving them a try when the inevitable overwhelm kicks in.
👂🏻 Imperfect Mornings Are OK
Whilst we’re on the subject of overwhelm, my usual go-to when this happens is to try and take control. I start making lists and generally try to over-organise my life, which, of course, only makes things worse.
I do know that having a good morning routine seems to help me but of course, I get carried away with reading about what everyone else is doing and try and fit too many things into those first few hours of the day.
Spotify sent me a timely podcast episode, ‘Realistic’ (Not Perfect) Morning Routines from the Midlife Mentors. It served as a much-needed reminder that what works for others isn't always right for me, and each day isn't the same.
If something doesn't get done on one day, that doesn't make me a failure, it's just life and I just need to keep going until I find what works best for me.
📱 Rise and Refuel

💰 Budget Busting
I have never been particularly good with money; if I have it, I am just itching to spend it, usually on crap I don't need. Over the last eighteen months, I have had a significant decrease in my income, so this article on how to spend less money can help with this very steep learning curve!
🤔 Menopause's Many Faces
Since I started sharing my own menopause experiences on my blog page, I have had so many conversations with friends and strangers alike and the common question I get is,” What are your symptoms?”
The symptoms can vary from person to person but even I am still realising that certain things that have happened over the years, such as anxiety when driving or being a passenger, which I never had before, can be symptoms of menopause.
Michelle Sands shares 99 possible symptoms of menopause of course, you should always seek medical advice as well.
